Please follow the guide below

  1. Wash your hands to ensure they are clean, very important. You must have clean hands every time you come into contact with the microgreens in the growing process.

  2. Re-hydrate your coco coir by placing the coco disc in a container or bucket and adding 200-250ml of warm water, these blocks do not come as an exact weight, they vary so be prepared to add more water if necessary . Leave for 30 mins, on your return fluff up with your hands to ensure there are no lumps and fill your container with the coco and firm down with your hands to ensure an even surface.

  3. Sow the Seeds:
Evenly sprinkle your microgreen seeds on top of the coco, you can gently tap the packet to distribute them if you find that easier.

  4. Watering:
Use a spray bottle to gently mist the seeds and coco. Keep it moist, but not waterlogged. Ensure you don’t disturb the seeds while watering.

  5. Cover the Tray:
Use the black plastic lid to cover the tray to help retain moisture and create a warm, humid environment, this is especially helpful for germination. Place in a spot with a temperature range of 18-22c.

  6. Germination:
After 2–3 days the seeds will begin to sprout. Keep the growing medium moist and remove the black cover and place your spare inverted punnet on top. This is called black-out. (We do this to help them stretch a little).

  7. Place in a Bright Spot:
After 24hrs remove inverted punnet and position the tray in a bright spot with indirect sunlight, such as near a window sill. Microgreens don’t need direct sunlight but do need a good amount of light to grow well. If light is limited, you can use a grow light for better results.

  8. Harvesting:
Microgreens usually take 7-14 days to reach harvestable size. Use a pair of scissors or a sharp knife to cut the greens just above the soil line. Harvest at your desired state of maturity, we suggest just as the true leaves are starting to develop.
