About us

David Watkins

The Farmer

David Watkins has spent his whole life making feature films, or more accurately providing the Special effects that are seen within them. He is a member of the explosive engineers at Cranfield. He has travelled the world working on blockbuster films like Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and the list goes on. He has three BAFTA nominations and one Academy nomination to his name for the films that he has supervised the SFX on.

In the background his passion has always been horticulture, not something that was introduced to him, but rather that he was drawn to, the moment he had a garden of his own, he instantly felt at peace when out there on his own. Since them he has spent a considerable amount of his spare time growing all manner of things ranging from edible flowers, full range of fruit and vegetables, orchids, butterflies and the list goes on. He has gained an extensive knowledge of growing in greenhouses, poly tunnels and lately venturing inside barns at his farm to grow under lights with aqua and hydroponics.

Alex Cristiano

The Chef

Alex Cristiano with over 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry, has successfully contributed to the success of many food business operations, from Michelin-starred restaurants to grab-and-go offers in high street retail operations. He has developed a strong culinary philosophy and passion that reflects the current trend towards healthier and natural nutrition. Alex has also been involved in various projects, such as supporting the development of an innovative Integrated Aquaculture project, recipe development of gluten-free bakery/pizza for a major supermarket chain, and project management of a goat milk ice cream range from concept to market.

As an experienced chef, Alex have always had a deep passion for outstanding ingredients and the importance of seasonality in creating exceptional dishes. He believe that locally sourced produce not only tastes better, but also supports our community and reduces our carbon footprint. That's why He has decided to start a sustainable microgreens farming operation, where he can grow these nutrient-rich greens year-round and provide my customers with the freshest and most flavorful ingredients possible. Committed to using organic and environmentally friendly practices growing his food, ensuring that every bite of food I serve is not only delicious, but also good for the planet. I am excited to embark on this new journey and share my love for quality ingredients with others.
